Thought you might want to know but I have not tried it to see if it does work or not.

Ebay has a payment system called Billpoint that allows one to pay the seller if you win the item in a auction.

To make a long story short - the charity - Foundation Fighting Blindness is having an auciton at Ebay and I decided to participate in it.

After winning a $12.50 bid I tried with no lluck to use BillPoint feature so I wrote to Ebay customer support and got this response.

We are sorry to hear of the difficulties you experienced when trying to utilize the Billpoint payment system. We have received feedback from other WebTV users who have experienced the same problem when trying to remit payment for a Billpoint invoice. Our Engineers are aware of the problem and are currently working on a resolution to address the difficulties WebTV users are encountering.

The good news is that your fellow eBay-Billpoint and Web TV users have discovered a work-around that will enable you to successfully pay for your item. We've tested it and it works fine. We're happy to share it with you.


To successfully pay for your item with Billpoint on Web TV, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to pay for the Billpoint invoice.

2. Tab down to the Place Order Button.

3. SIMULTANEOUSLY hit the TAB and RETURN keys on your keyboard.


These steps should complete the transaction for you.

I hope this workaround helps.

Is the BillPoint service not compatiable with WebTV? I tried to paysomeone using it by both credit card and/or electronic check and neitherof these features worked. Let me know soon.Petro.
